Paris Junior College

Paris Junior College conducts commencement ceremonies twice a year — once at the end of the spring semester (May) and once at the end of the fall semester (December) for graduates who complete their degree or certificate requirements.

To participate, students must submit the graduation application within the designated application windows. For eligible graduates, PJC provides a commemorative cap and gown and a diploma cover at no additional cost.

Academic regalia — the cap and gown — is mandatory. Graduates must wear the provided regalia; proper attire under the gown is expected (e.g. dress shirt/slacks or dress), and gowns must be zipped, caps worn mortared‑board style, tassels hanging on the right before degree conferral.

For academic honors: graduates who earn an associate degree and have completed at least 30 semester credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.50–3.99 receive “Honors” status; those with a 4.00 GPA receive “Highest Honors.” Honors graduates are recognized during commencement by wearing gold honors cords. Graduates with highest honors also receive an honors medallion.

Additionally, members of certain student organizations (e.g. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)) or special programs (e.g. TRIO) may wear additional academic‑regalia such as a gold tassel and a monogrammed stole — though this must be pre‑ordered and paid for separately.

However — and importantly — PJC’s publicly available documentation does not define any standardized color scheme for the graduation gown, cap, tassel, or stoles beyond honor cords/stoles. The documents require wearing the “PJC provided cap and gown,” but do not specify what color the gown or cap is, or whether tassels or stoles follow particular color‑coding based on degree, honors, or discipline.

In summary: Paris Junior College ensures that all graduates who apply and qualify receive formal academic regalia (cap, gown, and optional cords/stoles) for commencement ceremonies, with honors distinctions (gold cords/medallion) and optional society stoles for eligible students. Yet, without public documentation of regalia colors, it is not possible to state definitively the “graduation gown color”, “cap/tassel color”, or standard “stole color” for PJC — so actual colors may depend on the supplied regalia set per cohort or vendor.
