Trinity Christian College Commencement & Academic Regalia

Trinity Christian College (TCC) holds its annual commencement ceremony each spring at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, Illinois, honoring graduates from traditional undergraduate, adult undergraduate, and graduate programs. Graduates are required to wear official academic regalia, which includes a graduation gown, graduation cap, and tassel. Undergraduate tassels begin on the right and are ceremonially moved to the left once degrees are conferred. Graduate students and faculty wear tassels on the left throughout the ceremony.

Academic dress varies by degree level: Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral graduates each wear gowns appropriate to their program. While TCC provides uniform gowns, custom stoles or sashes are not permitted. Graduates may, however, decorate their mortarboard caps according to college guidelines.

Honor cords are awarded to undergraduates with a GPA of 3.500 or higher and a minimum of 60 credits completed at TCC. These cords are distributed at check-in on the day of commencement and denote academic achievement. Additional recognition includes medallions for honors or leadership roles.

Faculty regalia reflects traditional academic standards, with robes indicating the highest earned degree and tassels on the left. This uniformity maintains ceremonial decorum and emphasizes the academic achievements of both students and faculty.

Graduates pick up their regalia from the Registrar’s or Academic Records office prior to commencement, ensuring all participants meet college guidelines.
